Reinforcements Draft - MORE MEN FOR TRENTHAM
AUCKLAND'S RECRUITS - ALL BRANCHES STRENGTHENED

Some 241 men, under the command of Major NORTHCROFT, left Auckland to join the fifth reinforcement draft at Trentham. The names of all the men who comprised the force are not available, as a large proportion of them were drawn from the Whangarei district.

Major J G HUGHES, D.S.O., NZSC, assistant military secretary - taken over the duties of camp commandant, HQ, NZ Division Expeditionary Force.

Major Charles SHAWE, Reserve of Officers, Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort's Own), officer commanding general base depot - appointed third grade general staff officer.

Captain MOORE, commanding Otago Infantry Batt., - granted temporary rank of Lieut Colonel.

Captain REID, granted temporary rank of Major

MOORE, Captain Athelstan, D.S.O., Royal Dublin Fusiliers, who left NZ as Adjutant to the Otago Infantry Battalion, has been promoted to Major and now commands the battalion, with the temporary rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
